Red Sox down Wood Ducks 4-2

Kinston, North Carolina (June 22, 2019) - Marcus Wilson blasted consecutive home runs to propel the Salem Red Sox to a 4-2 win over the Down East Wood Ducks Saturday night at Grainger Stadium.

How it Happened
* Clay Middleton drove in Down East's first run with a second-inning double to take a 1-0 lead.
* Marcus Wilson knotted the contest in the top of the fourth inning after a solo blast to left field.
* The Woodies knocked back in the home half, Sam Huff and Yanio Perez knocked back-to-back singles, the latter scoring Huff to reclaim a 2-1 advantage.
* Edgar Corcino singled and Wilson delivered another home run to right field for Salem's first lead, 3-2, in the sixth inning.
* Keith Curcio drew a two-out walk in the following frame and Pedro Castellanos was hit by a pitch when Victor Acosta connected for a single to add insurance, 4-2.
* Andrew Politi picked up his first save of the season thanks to a four innings of scoreless relief. The righty struck out five.

Noteworthy
* Marcus Wilson's pair of blasts marks three home runs in two-straight games. He is the second Red Sox player this season to deliver two in one game after Dylan Hardy completed the feat April 20 at Frederick.
