Salem-Winston Series Finale Postponed

Doubleheader Scheduled for Wednesday, May 21 at 5:05 PM
April 29, 2014

Salem, VA (April 29, 2014) - With washout conditions present and an ominous forecast for the remainder of the evening, tonight's scheduled game between the Red Sox and the Dash has been postponed. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 21, beginning at 5:05 PM. The twin-bill will include two seven-inning games, separated by a 30-minute break.

Fans with tickets for tonight's game can exchange them for any other game in the 2014 regular season. The Red Sox next contest is in Lynchburg on Thursday, but Salem returns home for a week-long homestand on Monday, May 5. On Saturday, May 10, the Sox will celebrate "Pink in the Park" with numerous promotions dedicated to breast cancer awareness. In addition, the Sox will auction off special game-worn pink jerseys, with all the proceeds going to the local branch of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The Salem Sox are currently 14-10 and just one game out of first place in the Carolina League Southern Division. On Monday night, the Sox downed the Dash 11-8, finishing the most rain-shortened homestand with four wins in six games.
