2019 Season Finale In The Books

The Salt Lake Bees dropped the season finale to the Reno Aces 7-1 on Monday afternoon at Smith's Ballpark.Reno broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning by hitting a solo home run to take a 1-0 lead.

In the sixth inning, Kaleb Cowart broke up the Aces no-hitter bid and drove in Jo Adell to knot the game at 1-1. In the next frame, Reno responded with four runs to go ahead 5-1. The Aces tacked on one more run in the eighth and ninth to secure the season finale 7-1. The Bees offense was held to 3-for-25 hitting and left a total of four runners on base.
Alex Klonowksi (1-9) took the loss as he allowed five runs on seven hits over four relief innings. Salt Lake starter Adrian De Horta tossed three scoreless innings and allowed no hits while walking two and striking out one. Isaac Mattson came in for the last two innings and allowed two runs. Cowart led the Bees offense, going 1-for-4 and driving in the team's only run of the contest. The Bees finish the season with a 60-79 record.
 
The Bees will take the winter off before beginning the 2020 campaign on Thursday, April 9 against El Paso at Smith's Ballpark.
