The Albuquerque Isotopes scored the eventual winning run on a balk in the eighth inning, as they edged the Salt Lake Bees 4-3 on Tuesday night.

After a fielder's choice left Albuquerque with a runner at first and one out, Elliot Soto singled to center to advance former Bee Anthony Bemboom to third. With Garrett Hampson at the plate, Salt Lake pitcher Jake Jewell (1-3) started to deliver a pitch, but had his feet get tangled up and he never released the ball for a balk to bring home Bemboom.
The Bees had tied the game in the sixth, as Jabari Blash walked, stole second, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a squeeze bunt single by Nolan Fontana. Salt Lake had jumped in front in the second inning on a two run homer by Dustin Ackley, but the Isotopes scored one in the third and two in the fourth to take a 3-2 lead. Fontana led the Bees with three hits, including a triple and a double, and one run batted in, while Ackley added two hits and two RBI. Salt Lake starter Félix Peña left the game in the third inning with an apparent leg injury. He went two and two-third innings and allowed just one run on three hits with two strikeouts and no walks. The loss allows Albuquerque to pull into a first place tie with the Bees in the Pacific Southern Division.
