Bees Rout Rainiers

The Salt Lake Bees scored six runs in the fourth inning and followed that up with a season high ten runs in the fifth en route to a 16-4 rout of the Tacoma Rainiers on Saturday night. Tacoma led 2-0 going into the fourth when the Bees took the lead.

The Salt Lake Bees scored six runs in the fourth inning and followed that up with a season high ten runs in the fifth en route to a 16-4 rout of the Tacoma Rainiers on Saturday night. Tacoma led 2-0 going into the fourth when the Bees took the lead. With the bases loaded, Anthony Bemboom singled in a run and Jake Gatewood followed with a two run single to take a 3-2 lead. A double steal scored the fourth run and Brennon Lund followed with a two run homer to make it 6-2.

Salt Lake would break it open with ten runs in the fifth highlighted by a grand slam from Gatewood and a three run homer by Jo Adell, his league leading 19th of the season. As a team, the Bees went 3 for 3 with seven runs batted in while batting with the bases loaded. Gatewood led the way with two hits and six RBI, while Adell added three hits and three runs batted in. Tyler Danish (2-1) picked up the win in relief, as he went a season long three innings and allowed two runs on five hits with three strikeouts.
