Down 2-1 in the sixth inning, the Bees took advantage of Sacramento wildness to tie the game. Taylor Ward walked to lead off the inning. Two outs later, Steven Okert came out of the bullpen and proceeded to walk Dustin Ackley, Nolan Fontana and Francisco Arcia with the base on balls to Arcia forcing in the game tying run. Jared Walsh led off the eighth with a double to right field and scored the eventual winning run on a ground ball single to center by Kaleb Cowart.
The Salt Lake bullpen of Akeel Morris, Connor Lillis-White and Ryan Clark combined for four and one-third scoreless innings. Lillis-White (1-0) earned the win, as he went two and one-third innings and allowed no hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Clark gave up a leadoff walk in the ninth inning, but retired the next three batters to record his third save of the season and the second in as many nights.
