Salt Lake starting pitcher Reid Detmers set one franchise strikeout record and equaled another, but the Tacoma Rainiers outlasted the Bees 6-5 in twelve innings on Wednesday night. Detmers struck out seven consecutive Tacoma batters to break the old record of six and fanned 14, which ties the single game record that he now shares with Jered Weaver and the late Tyler Skaggs.

The Bees took a 1-0 lead in the second on a sacrifice fly by Chad Wallach and an RBI single by Magneuris Sierra in the fourth made it a 2-0 lead. Tacoma scored a run in the sixth and tied the game in the bottom of ninth on a leadoff homer by Zach Green and each team would score single runs in the 10th and 11th innings. In the top of the 12th, Salt Lake regained the lead on a sacrifice fly by Michael Stefanic, but the Rainiers would score two in the bottom of the 12th with the winning run coming in on a sacrifice fly by Erick Mejia.

Kean Wong led the Bees with three hits, while Jack Mayfield and Sierra each added two hits and one run batted in.
