Early Runs Lead Salt Lake to Victory Over Reno

The Salt Lake Bees rolled to an 8-2 victory over the Reno Aces Thursday night for their second win in a row. The Bees racked up 12 hits and went 8-for-19 with runners in scoring position while holding Reno to 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Michael Stefanic went 3-for-4

The Salt Lake Bees rolled to an 8-2 victory over the Reno Aces Thursday night for their second win in a row. The Bees racked up 12 hits and went 8-for-19 with runners in scoring position while holding Reno to 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

Michael Stefanic went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and three runs scored. Orlando Martinez had his second-consecutive multi-hit game and Jake Palomaki went 1-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to seven games. Torii Hunter Jr. went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Salt Lake did the majority of their scoring in the first two innings, putting up three runs in the first and two more in the second. Martinez hit a two-RBI double in the bottom of the first and Stefanic drove in runs in both innings to put the Bees up 5-0.

Reno got on the board for the first time in the fifth inning with a Cole Tucker solo home run. Jose Gomez hit a two-RBI double in the bottom of the inning to push the Salt Lake lead to six.

Jose Herrera hit another solo home run for the Aces in the seventh, but that would be the end of the scoring for the visitors.

The Bees will go for three wins in a row tomorrow night at 6:35 p.m.
