Salt Lake broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning as Michael Hermosillo hit a solo home run to give the Bees a 1-0 lead. In the next frame, Bees starter JC Ramírez surrendered three runs on four hits after not allowing a hit in the first four innings. The Bees offense tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth as Brennon Lund clubbed a RBI-triple and Ty Kelly hit a sacrifice fly and then got back in front in the sixth 6-3 with Jared Walsh giving the Bees the go-ahead RBI-single. Matt Ball came in relief for Ramirez and gave up four runs on two two-run home runs in the eighth inning to allow El Paso to jump to a 7-6 advantage before Roberto Peña led off the bottom of the ninth with a double and later scored on a Taylor Ward RBI single.

Leading the Salt Lake offense was Wilfredo Tovar who went 4-for-5 with one RBI, while Lund drove in a pair of runs. With a solo home run in the contest, Hermosillo has hit a homer in two consecutive games. On the pitching side, Ramirez had a quality start after going six innings and allowing three runs on five hits while striking out three as he continued his Major League rehabilitation assignment.
