Isotopes Slide By Bees 1-0

June 9, 2015
SALT LAKE BEES (June 9) - In the 10th 1-0 shutout in Smith's Ballpark history, the Salt Lake Bees fell to the Albuquerque Isotopes Tuesday afternoon. The Isotopes scored their sole run of the game in the third inning when Matt McBride reached on an error off Bees pitcher Alex Sanabia (1-5) with bases loaded. Despite allowing no earned runs in the game Sanabia was tagged with loss. He ended the game with five hits allowed and one unearned run over four innings pitched. The Bees bullpen strung together a strong relief effort with Vinnie Pestano, Scott Snodgress and Trevor Gott combining to pitch five scoreless innings.

The Bees had several opportunities to take the lead, including a bases-loaded, one out situation in the second inning, but were unable to capitalize as the team tied a season-high by stranding 12 runners on the base paths. Marc Krauss saw his PCL-leading 16 game hit streak come to an end, though he still managed to reach base for the 17th straight game on his 25th walk of the season.

The Bees take the day off tomorrow, before returning to action on Thursday, June 11 to begin a four-game set with Fresno at Smith's Ballpark. The weekend series will feature 'Bee Healthy Week' with fan challenges on the concourse June 11-June 13 with post-game fireworks on Saturday. For more information or for tickets, visit www.slbees.com.
