Another dominant pitching performance helped the Flying Chanclas de San Antonio to a 6-1 win and a series sweep of the Round Rock Hairy Men Sunday night at Wolff Stadium.

The Chanclas struck first Sunday against righty Hayden Thomas (0-3). Ryan Flores led off the bottom of the second by working a walk. After Kyte McDonald singled to center, Thomas responded by striking out both Lee Thomas and Grant Smith. That brought up catcher Nick Wolff, who did not let the scoring chance go to waste, drilling a line-drive single off the wall in right that scored Flores.

Round Rock took advantage of a two-base error in the third to tie the game against right-hander Lance Lusk. San Antonio quickly answered in the home half when Flores gave his team a 2-1 lead with a sacrifice fly to center.

An inning later, Johnny Hernandez pushed the Chanclas lead to 3-1 when his double off lefty Jared Pettitte drove in Wolff all the way from first. Thomas added to the lead in the sixth with an RBI double of his own.

Thomas struck again in the eighth against righty Jason Ruffcorn, making the score 5-1 when he drove in Flores from first with a triple to dead center. Smith capped scoring when he followed with a sacrifice fly to center.

Once again, San Antonio received a splendid performance from its pitchers. Lusk, Tyler Flores (1-0) and Connor Schmidt (1st save) combined on a four-hitter, racking up 10 strikeouts against just one walk.

Following a day off, San Antonio begins a three-game series at Victoria Tuesday night. First pitch from Riverside Stadium is slated for 7:05 PM. Righty Riggs Threadgill (0-1, 0.00) is the probable starter for the Chanclas. The Generals have yet to announce a starter for the opener.
