DESCRIPTION
Supervisor: Director of Public Relations  
The Public Relations Assistant is a seasonal position that runs from mid-March - mid-September (we can be flexible for qualified applicants). The PR assistant is tasked with creating content for team publications, events, audio and video productions, and digital outlets. The PR Assistant will oversee the operation of the press box and assist media in its coverage of Missions Baseball and Wolff Stadium events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

-Authors features, game stories, and press releases for distribution and samissions.com
-Creates content for website
-Pitches story and interview ideas and brings subjects together with media
-Coordinates daily in-season interview requests
-With input from marketing and the ticket office, writes messaging to season members
-Authors content for gameday program, media guide, & other club publications
-Plans press events
-Issues Wolff Stadium credentials
-Press box preparation and administration
-Assists with social media messaging
-Compiles stat packs for field staffs and media members
-Manages club photographs; interfaces with other departments to meet their needs
-Makes school & community appearances
 
Education and/or Experience:
You should have strong communication skills and superior customer service abilities, in addition:
-At least one year of related Communications experience in an athletics setting
-Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite products and Microsoft programs
-Website content management experience
-Highest level of professionalism with enthusiastic and positive attitude
-Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task
-Willingness to work long hours, evenings, weeknights, and holidays

Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. 
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision. 
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
