Sixth Straight Loss for the Missions After Second Straight Walk-off

An Interference Call on Abrams Seals the Deal for Frisco

SAN ANTONIO – Another comeback effort for the Missions was thwarted by the Missions bullpen. The Frisco RoughRiders win with their second straight walk-off. Final score was 5-4.

Facing Reggie Lawson, the Frisco offense attacked early and scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Following a walk and a base hit, the Rangers #1 prospect Josh Jung connected on a three-run home run.

Lawson, making his fourth appearance of the season, pitched a season high 2.2 innings while allowing three earned runs and striking out five batters.

The Missions failed to score a run until the top of the sixth inning. Michael Curry began the inning with a double. After two outs, Eguy Rosario drove him with an RBI single. They trailed 3-1.

San Antonio continued their comeback and took the lead in the ninth inning. The offense plated three runs in the top of the ninth to take a 4-3 lead. Rosario was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. After an out, Jack Suwinski drew a walk. The next batter was Allen Cordoba who provided the big blast with a three-run home run.

Mason Fox came on in the bottom of the ninth to convert the save. However, Frisco had other ideas. After striking out the first batter, Fox allowed back-to-back singles to Matt Whatley and Jax Biggers. The next batter was Bubba Thompson who doubled down the left-field line. The first run scored to tie the game. The second run scored due to an interference error on CJ Abrams. This locked up the sixth straight loss for San Antonio.
