Five Game Winning Streak for San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – Following an hour-long rain delay, the San Antonio Missions extended their winning streak to five games with a 5-3 victory Tuesday night.

After a scoreless inning, the Missions scored first in the bottom of the second inning. Eguy Rosario scored from second base on a wild pitch. He was attempting to steal third and eventually scored due to a wild pitch from Alec Marsh.

The two teams were stuck in a one-hour, ten-minute rain delay following the second inning. Reggie Lawson was relieved after two innings of work. He retired all six batters he faced and struck out two batters.

The Naturals took the lead in the third inning after scoring twice against new pitcher Adrian Martinez. Two groundouts from Clay Dungan and Rudy Martin plated both runs.

CJ Abrams tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the following inning which scored Jose Azocar.

The teams continued to go back-and-forth in the fourth inning. MJ Melendez regained the lead for Northwest Arkansas with a solo home run. Allen Cordoba tied the game with a sacrifice fly.

Still in the fourth inning, Azocar regained the lead for San Antonio with an RBI single to score Jack Suwinski.

Suwinski added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning with his 11th home run of the season. This is his third straight game with a homer.

The Missions continue their six-game homestand with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Wednesday, June 16th. Right-hander Caleb Boushley (2-2, 3.52) will start for the Missions against left-hander Drew Parrish (0-1, 27.00). First pitch at 7:05 p.m.
