SOUTH BEND, Indiana (March 16, 2018) - The South Bend Cubs are gearing up for Opening Day 2018 as they announce events taking place leading up to the first pitch of the season's home opener on Saturday, April 7. All homestand games take place at Four Winds Field, 501 W.

All homestand games take place at Four Winds Field, 501 W. South Street, South Bend. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Box Office at 574-235-9988.
Monday, April 2, South Bend Cubs Team Arrival from Arizona
 
Tuesday, April 3, Team Breakfast at PEGGS, 127 S. Michigan St, South Bend, 9 a.m.
Wednesday, April 4, Charity Exhibition Game against the University of Notre Dame Men's Baseball Team, 6 p.m.

  • Gates open at 5 p.m.

  • 7-inning exhibition game

  • $5 tickets: Game proceeds to be split between two designated charities

Opening Night Promotions:
  • Gates open at 5 p.m., pre-game concert by Southern Straight Away

  • First 1,000 fans receive a South Bend Cubs Pint Glass

  • First 1,000 fans receive a South Bend Cubs 2018 Magnet Schedule

  • Flat Screen Saturday: Every inning, one fan in attendance will win a 50-inch flat screen TV.

  • Balloon artists and other surprises on the concourse

  • Post-Game Fireworks Extravaganza


Note: The South Bend Cubs' game of the season on Thursday, April 5 against the West Michigan Whitecaps can be heard on 96.1 FM and 960 AM WSBT and online at SouthBendCubs.com. Pre-game show starts at 6:20 pm ET with first pitch at 6:35 pm ET.
As a reminder, the gates open two hours prior to the first pitch for all Friday, Saturday and Sunday games throughout the season. The South Bend Cubs Performance Center will be open during home games for all ticket holders.
About the South Bend Cubs
The South Bend Cubs are the Class A minor league affiliate of the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. Over the past 30 seasons, the team has won five Midwest League titles, most recently in 2005, and has captured 12 division titles. In 2015 the team was named Ballpark Digest's Team of the Year and received the John H. Johnson President's Award, the highest award in minor league baseball. In June 2017, Four Winds Field, home of the South Bend Cubs, was voted Best Class A ballpark in the country by Ballpark Digest.
