SOUTH BEND, IN - For the fourth consecutive year, the South Bend Cubs have set a new single-season franchise attendance record of 354,070 fans, breaking last season's mark of 350,803.

"I just want to thank our fans for this amazing experience," said South Bend Cubs Owner Andrew T. Berlin in from of a sold out Four Winds Field crowd of 6,551 on Friday. "We strive to bring you the best experience. From the custodial staff to concessions and the front office, our goal has always been to delight everyone who walks through the gates at Four Winds Field."
In addition to setting a new attendance record, the club has also set a new single game attendance average of 5,285 fans per game
Since purchasing the club in 2011, when the team only drew 112,795 fans, Berlin has invested more than $8 million into the city-owned facility. As an Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate in 2014, the team broke the attendance record for the first time in 20 years with 258,836 fans followed by 347,678 fans in 2015 as a Chicago Cubs affiliate. In total, since 2012 under the Andrew Berlin ownership, 1,738,410 fans have attended games at For Winds Field.
Improvements to the area around the stadium continue with The Ivy at Berlin Place, a $22 million mixed use property that will include 121 new apartments and 10,000 square feet of retail space.
South Bend could host at least one more game at Four Winds Field this year, if the team wins the Midwest League second half wild card. Currently, the Cubs are two games behind Bowling Green in the standings and will face the Hot Rods for the final three games of the regular season at Bowling Green Ballpark. South Bend must sweep Bowling Green to make the playoffs. Visit SouthBendCubs.com for possible post-season games and schedule.
