IronPigs shut out Yankees

April 28, 2009
After four days away from home, the Yankees returned to PNC Field only to be shut out by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 6-0, Tuesday night.

The IronPigs posted five of their runs in the third inning. Eric Hacker faced the first two batters: one flied out to right and the other struck out swinging.

However, the next batters posted a solo homer, three singles, and a three-run homerun.

The other Lehigh Valley run came in the seventh off a single that scored an IronPig on second.

Hacker went six innings and struck out eight.

Todd Linden, Shelley Duncan, Juan Miranda, Austin Jackson and Luis Nunez totaled the seven Yankee hits.

Linden doubled in the sixth with two outs to try for a Yankee rally.

The IronPigs return for Game 2 Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
