MOOSIC, PA (March 2, 2021) – On Tuesday, March 2, Major League Baseball announced that it will delay the start of the 2021 Triple-A season until May 4. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and the 29 other Triple-A teams were slated to start on either April 4 or 6, but will now have that return to the field delayed by four weeks.

PNC Field will once again serve as the Alternate Training Site for the New York Yankees, their Major League parent club. The RailRiders facility hosted the Yankees in the same capacity last year.

“While we are certainly disappointed that RailRiders baseball will not resume next month, we are hopeful that the additional time will benefit the health and safety of the fans and everyone involved with professional baseball, regardless of level,” stated John Adams, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s Team President.

The RailRiders will now open their season in Syracuse on May 4 with the home opener slated for one week later, May 11, against Lehigh Valley. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will release additional information regarding the 2021 season over the next few weeks.

Full, Half and Partial Season Ticket Memberships are on sale now.

The RailRiders front office is open on a limited basis and by appointment only. For more information on the upcoming 2021 season, please visit swbrailriders.com or contact the club by calling (570) 969-2255 and leave a voicemail. Calls will be returned at the earliest possible opportunity.
