He spent two seasons as the manager of the Yankees affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, amassing 177 wins, back-to-back division titles and the International League
On Monday, December 4, former RailRiders manager Al Pedrique was hired by the Oakland Athletics and will serve as their first base coach on Bob Melvin's staff. He spent two seasons as the manager of the Yankees affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, amassing 177 wins, back-to-back division titles and the International League title in 2016 prior to leading the RailRiders to a victory in the Triple-A National Championship Game.
During his two year stint with the RailRiders, Pedrique also won back-to-back International League Manager-of-the-Year honors.

Pedrique, 57, spent parts of three seasons in the majors as a player during his 17-year career. His managerial career spans 13 seasons, including each of the last five within the New York Yankees system. He has also spent four years on Major League staffs.u1:p
