MOOSIC, Pa. (June 18, 2019) - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders defeated the Norfolk Tides 8-4 Tuesday night at PNC Field in game one of a six-game homestand. Aaron Judge, with the RailRiders on an Allied Integrated Health Systems rehab assignment and making his first appearance in Moosic since August 2016, went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a pair of walks.

After Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starting pitcher Randall Delgado worked a 1-2-3 top of the first, Mike Ford knocked a leadoff home run in the bottom of the inning. Three batters later, Mike Tauchman launched a three-run blast and Kyle Higashioka drilled his tenth home run of the season for a 5-0 advantage.

Delgado faced the minimum over the first four innings and the RailRiders kept the momentum going offensively in the bottom of the fourth with a leadoff double by Thairo Estrada and an RBI single by Logan Morrison to extend the lead.

The Tides got on the board in the top of the fifth on a Christopher Bostick sac fly and a trio of doubles to cut their deficit down to three runs at 6-3.
In the home side of the fifth, Judge hit an 0-1 pitch from Norfolk starter Tyler Herb over the right-center wall to build a 7-3 edge. The RailRiders capped their outburst in the eighth when Trey Amburgey drove in Estrada with a single to left for an 8-3 lead.

Norfolk's comeback attempt produced a run in the top of the ninth, but Kaleb Ort induced a fly out to Judge in right to seal the win.

Delgado (1-2) got his first win with a quality start, allowing three runs over six innings with one walk allowed and three strikeouts. Stephen Tarpley worked 2.2 innings of relief behind Delgado before Ort notched his second save. Herb (4-5) surrendered the first seven runs on eight hits and two walks in the loss.
All nine RailRiders in the lineup had at least one hit, paced by two-hit efforts from Tyler Wade and Estrada.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Norfolk meet again on Wednesday. Gates open at 4 p.m. for home batting practice before Brody Koerner and Tom Eshelman square off at 7:05 p.m. on a Pay-it-Forward and Waggin' Wednesday.
