Bowie, Md. - The Bowie Baysox (61-56) erased a 2-0 lead after one inning, and beat the Portland Sea Dogs (56-59), 4-2, Friday night in a 5-inning-rain-shortened series opener at Prince George's Stadium. The loss snapped Portland's four-game winning streak.

Portland took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-out, two-run homer by Jeremy Barfield (2-for-2). The homer was the 21st for Barfield, tying him with Jeremy Owens (2003) for the most in a single season as a Red Sox affiliate.
Bowie chipped away, receiving an RBI double by Adrian Marin against Trey Ball (Loss, 5-10) in the second inning. The Baysox took the lead for good on a two-run homer by Austin Hays in the third. Aderlin Rodriguez added a solo-shot in the fourth.
Yefry Ramírez (12-3) gets credited for a complete game, tossing five innings on six hits, two runs, no walks and six strikeouts. The Eastern League leader in wins, Ramirez, has beaten Portland three times this season.
The Portland Sea Dogs and Bowie Baysox (Orioles affiliate) play game two of their series at 6:35 PM from Prince George's Stadium on Saturday. LHP Henry Owens (2-3, 5.16) takes on Bowie lefty John Means (8-7, 4.20.
