Holiday at Hadlock Set for December 7th

FREE EVENT Highlighted by Santa's Arrival from the North Pole via ELF ONE

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs in partnership with 99.9 FM The WOLF will host the third annual Holiday at Hadlock event on Saturday, December 7th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Sea Dogs will turn the place of summer memories into a winter wonderland. The free event, open to the public, will be highlighted by Santa's arrival from the North Pole via Elf One.

Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive at 11:00 AM at Hadlock Field from the North Pole via Elf One, a helicopter from Acadian Seaplanes. Santa is scheduled to touch down at second base. Santa will then be available to meet with children until 2:00 PM.

New this year will be a petting zoo, where you will be able to pet a real live Reindeer! "Freeway" the Reindeer, one of Santa's special reindeer, will be at Hadlock Field thanks to our friends at Pony X-Press in Waterville.

Other Festivities Include:

  • Horse Drawn Carriage Rides around the field, courtesy of Carousel Horse Farm in Casco, Maine.
  • A craft room where fans can decorate game used baseballs turning them into unique Christmas tree ornaments. Fans will also be able to create holiday cards.
  • Free Hot Chocolate & Cookies
  • Free Build Your Own S'Mores Station
  • Toys-for-Tots Drop-Off Location- Fans are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy to donate. A truck courtesy of Southern Maine Motors will be parked in front of the ballpark to collect donations.
  • The Sea Dogs' mascot band; The Kastaways will be performing during the event, along with a special guest, complete with some of your favorite holiday carols.
  • Face Painters and Balloon Twister provided by Party Palooga, presented by Five County Credit Union.
  • And other entertainment acts.

Additionally, fans will be able to get a head start on their holiday shopping as both the Sea Dogs' Ticket Office and Souvenir Shop will be open to allow fans to give the gift of summer this winter. Red Sox World Series merchandise is available!

The Sea Dogs open the 2014 season on the road in Reading, Pennsylvania on April 3rd. The home opener is set for Thursday, April 10th at 6:00 PM against the New Britain Rock Cats.
