Sea Dogs announce preliminary 2018 promo schedule

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs have announced a preliminary promotional schedule for the 2018 season. The initial promotional schedule includes three bobblehead giveaways, five fireworks shows, and numerous theme nights. Tickets for 2018 Sea Dogs' games will go on sale Saturday, November 4th.

In honor of the Sea Dogs 25th season, the bobblehead lineup will honor three of the organization's most notable award winners; Jon Lester, Kevin Millar, and Dustin Pedroia. Lester was the 2005 Eastern League Pitcher of the Year with the Sea Dogs, his bobblehead will be given away at Hadlock Field on June 19th, courtesy of AAA. On July 2nd, fans will receive a Kevin Millar bobblehead, made possible by U.S. Cellular. Millar was the 1997 Eastern League MVP and is the only Sea Dogs player to earn league MVP honors. On July 23rd the Sea Dogs will be giving away Dustin Pedroia bobbleheads, presented by Bath Savings. Pedroia was the 2008 American League MVP, he is the only former Sea Dog to earn MVP honors in the majors. All bobbleheads are for the first 1,000 fans to enter the ballpark each day.
Five postgame fireworks shows are planned for the season with the first scheduled for Friday, May 25th followed by shows on June 21st, July 3rd, July 21st, and August 21st.
Popular theme nights will return for the 2018 season including Superhero (May 27th), 80's night (June 21st), Halloween (July 13th), Princess & Pirate (July 22nd), Harry Potter (July 31st) and Star Wars (August 4th).
The fan favorite Field of Dreams/ Fan Appreciation game is set for Wednesday, August 29th at 7:00 PM. While the world famous ZOOperstars will make their only Hadlock Field appearance of the season on July 20th.

The Sea Dogs open the 2018 season on Thursday, April 5th in Binghamton, New York. The home opener is scheduled for Friday, April 13th at 6:00 PM against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
