The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, today release their 2018 season schedule. The SeaWolves open their 24th season on Thursday, April 5 at FirstEnergy Stadium against the Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies). The 2018 home opener, presented by Plyler Entry Systems, is Friday, April 13 at 6:05 p.m. against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at UPMC Park.
The SeaWolves will play 70 home games including 33 weekend dates. The 2018 schedule features three UPMC Health Plan Education Days (May 2, 9 & 31), three 12:05 p.m. midweek matinee games (April 19, June 20 and July 25), and postgame fireworks following every Saturday night home game.
April, May and September night games in 2018 will feature a new start time of 6:05 p.m. Night games in June, July and August will begin at 7:05 p.m. With the exception of holiday weekend fireworks dates on July 1 and September 2, Sunday games will begin at 1:35 p.m.
The SeaWolves will host the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Altoona Curve, for three series at UPMC Park (April 13-15, June 22-24 and July 12-15). The SeaWolves will host the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, the Akron RubberDucks, for three series at UPMC Park (July 26-29, August 20-21 and August 31-September 3).
The SeaWolves will give away 2018 magnet schedules as fans exit the ballpark on Saturday, August 26 thanks to the Crime Victim Center of Erie County. The final 2017 regular season home game is Sunday, August 27 at 1:35 p.m. against Akron.
