The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, are in engaged in a national food fight to garner the honor of top Minor League Baseball concession item in the BUSH'S Home Run Recipes Contest.
The Mojo & AC Rocket Dog, currently served at the Smith's Sausage Shack at UPMC Park, features a freshly grilled Jumbo Smith's Hot Dog, topped with in-house smoked pulled pork, homemade macaroni & cheese, grilled bacon and dressed with rocket fuel (BBQ sauce).
The specialty item, named after Rocket 101 morning crew hosts Mojo & AC, is currently #1 in the standings out of 65 items submitted by Minor League Baseball teams throughout the country.
"New this season, the Mojo & AC Rocket Dog has become a fan favorite at UPMC Park," SeaWolves President Greg Coleman said. "We encourage the Erie community to vote several times per day. This an opportunity to put three Erie brands - Smith's, the SeaWolves and Rocket 101 - on a national stage. Smith's is a quality hot dog, and hopefully we can rally enough votes to make it the 'top dog' in Minor League Baseball."
Voting is currently underway and ends at 11:59 PM on Friday, July 14. Fans can visit the SeaWolves social media channels on Facebook and Twitter or VOTE HERE. There is no limit on the amount of times one person can vote.
The winning team will be presented with an award for national Minor League Baseball food supremacy and receive a visit to their ballpark from Duke, the iconic BUSH'S Beans Dog, later in the season.
