Senators Take Game Three 4-1

It was another tight game on Friday night at Metro Bank Park and the Harrisburg Senators gained a 2-1 series advantage with a 4-1 win over the SeaWolves.

Harrisburg got on the board in the last of the third against Erie starter Matt Crouse. Jeff Howell led off with a single and scored on a two-out bloop hit off the bat of Brian Goodwin for a 1-0 lead.

The Senators added a run in the seventh. With one out, Goodwin single and stole second. He scored on a two-out Justin Bloxom double making it 2-0.

Erie finally got on the board in the eighth against reliever Christian Garcia. With one out, Garcia walked Jamie Johnson and Eugenio Suarez. A fielder's choice off the bat of Daniel Fields retired Suarez at second. Ramon Cabrera followed and reached on an infield single, plating Johnson making it 2-1.

The Sens put the game out of reach in the eighth. Jason Martinson led off and homered off of reliever Will Clinard making it 3-1. Billy Burns singled, stole second and moved to third on a throwing error. Burns scored on a Steven Souza, Jr. sacrifice fly making it 4-1. Erie would get no closer.

Crouse took the loss allowing two runs on five hits with no walks and seven strikeouts in 6.1 innings.

The SeaWolves must now win Saturday night in game four to stay alive in the series. Lefty Ramon Garcia takes the mound against LHP Robbie Ray with the first pitch at 7 p.m.
