'Wolves Drop Finale to Baysox

The SeaWolves could not compete the sweep of the Bowie Baysox, dropping the series finale on Wednesday afternoon 6-5 at Jerry Uht Park.

Bowie jumped ahead in the top of the first against Erie starter Tommy Collier. Niuman Romero singled with one out and Christian Walker singled putting runners on the corners for Dariel Alvarez. Alvarez doubled home Romero for a 1-0 Bowie lead. Chih-Hsien-Chiang knocked home a pair with a base hit making it 3-0. With two outs, Ronald Bermudez doubled home Chiang making it 4-0.

Erie quickly responded in the bottom of the first. With one out, Jason Krizan belted a solo home run off of Bowie starter Tyler Wilson. Eugenio Suarez followed an extended his hitting streak to 10 straight games with a double down the left field line. Suarez advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Ramon Cabrera infield single making it 4-2.

Bowie added to its lead in the sixth. Bermudez led off with a single off of reliever Pat McCoy. With one out, Buck Britton singled putting two on for Romero. Romero doubled home Bermudez making it 5-2. With two outs Alvarez singled home Britton for a 6-2 Baysox lead.

Erie made it a two-run game in the sixth against reliever Jason Gurka. Cabrera singled to start the inning and Steven Moya blasted a two-run over the wall in right making it 6-4. The home run for Moya was his first of the season.

In the eight, a fourth Bowie error led to a run making it 6-5, however the 'Wolves would get no closer.

Collier (0-2) took the loss allowing four runs on eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts in four innings.
