B-Mets Sweep Senators

August 4, 2013

Harrisburg, PA - Daniel Muno came a single short of the cycle and homered to spark a four-run sixth, as the Binghamton Mets defeated the Harrisburg Senators 6-0 to complete a three-game sweep at Metro Bank Park.

Binghamton scored in the first inning for the third straight game. Muno led off with a triple and came in to score on a sacrifice-fly by Josh Rodriguez.

The game remained scoreless until the big B-Mets sixth, when the first four batters all reached. Muno led off with his eighth home run of the season. The big swing came from Rhyne Hughes, who delivered a two-run triple down the right field line. Travis Taijeron later came through with an RBI double.

Rob Gilliam cruised through the first five innings before running into trouble in the sixth. The right-hander tossed six innings, gave up six hits, five runs, walked two, and struck out seven. Matt Swynenberg pitched two shutout innings out of the Senators bullpen.
