Hague Lifts Sens to Series Win

August 11, 2013

Altoona, PA - Ricky Hague had two hits and drove in three runs to lead the Harrisburg Senators to a 5-3 come from behind victory over the Altoona Curve in the rubber game of the series at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

Hague drove in two with a single in the first inning to put the Senators on top right away. The lead didn't last long, though, as Altoona came right back with a pair in the bottom of the frame to tie it.

Justin Howard hit a one-out home run in the fourth to give the Curve their first lead of the night. Jason Martinson responded with a solo shot of his own in the sixth inning to even the score once again. It was the third long ball of the season for Martinson.

In the seventh, the Senators surged back in front to stay with two runs on four hits. Destin Hood started the rally with a double and Justin Bloxom delivered a pinch hit single. A couple batters later, Sean Nicol came through with an RBI double and later in the inning, Hague brought him in with a run-scoring single.

A.J. Cole improved to 3-0 in four starts with six strong innings of work. The right-hander allowed four hits, three runs, walked three, and struck out four. Richie Mirowski, Tyler Herron, and Aaron Barrett each tossed a shutout inning out of the Senators bullpen. It was the 23rd save of the season for Barrett.

Tomorrow, the Senators have the day off before opening a three-game series in Trenton on Tuesday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and the game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and it's available through iHeart Radio beginning with the pregame show at 6:50 p.m.
