Head's Power, Gilliam's Arm Lead Sens in 8-2 Win

Reading, PA- Jerad Head homered twice and drove in four runs, and Rob Gilliam tossed five perfect innings to lead the Harrisburg Senators to an 8-2 win over the Reading Fightin Phils on Sunday afternoon at FirstEngergy Stadium.

Head went 4-for-4 in the game and came a triple short of the cycle. His first blast put the Senators up 2-0 quickly in the first inning. Harrisburg added another in the frame on a sacrifice-fly from Destin Hood, one of two for him on the day.

Head put the Senators up 5-0 in the third with another two-run shot. Steven Souza, Jr. went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and Sean Nicol came up with a pair of singles and an RBI.

Gilliam threw 57 pitches, 38 for strikes. After his five perfect innings, the first batter of the sixth reached with a single against Matt Swynenberg. Neil Holland, Matt Grace, and Aaron Barrett each threw a scoreless inning out of the Senators bullpen.

On Monday morning, the Senators conclude their four-game series in Reading and go for the series win.
