Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators are pleased to launch their NEW Official On-Field Batting Practice Cap for the 2014 season. Sure to be a hit both with the players and in the Team Store-The New Era Style fitted cap is blue with a blue bill and a red button on the top. On it, depicted in all of its glory, is nothing but a mayfly.

"We really wanted to capture something that is unique to us with this new on-field cap," said Senators' President Kevin Kulp. "The mayfly is truly nature at work. We have what I think is the most unique setting in the country with being in the middle of the Susquehanna River."

"One aspect of that uniqueness that our fans can identify with is this harmless little mayfly. When we saw the mock up for the cap we were super excited. The caps are going to be a very popular item in the team store for sure."

Mayflies, obviously huge fans of the team, have been known to hang out around Metro Bank Park, home of the Harrisburg Senators, on humid summer nights. These harmless little bugs are hatched near the banks of the Susquehanna River. The mayfly has a short lifespan and is fond of the bright lights of the ballpark. They can often be seen near the stadium light poles around 9:00 p.m. on a game night during the summer months. The mayfly caps are available in the team store now or online through the Senators website.

The Senators' offices are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily during the off-season. The 2014 home opener is Thursday, April 10, against the Reading Fightin Phils. The Senators open their 2014 campaign on Thursday, April 3, at the Bowie Baysox. Individual game tickets are currently available, online only, twenty-four hours a day. Tickets go on sale in person at the box office on Monday, March 17, at 10:00 a.m. For information about season tickets, ticket plans, or group tickets please call the Senators at 717-231-4444 or visit the Senators online at
