Senators Take Rubber Game in Trenton 3-1

August 1, 2013

Trenton, NJ - Justin Bloxom's two-run single put the Harrisburg Senators up early, and they went on to defeat the Trenton Thunder 3-1 in the rubber game of the series at Arm & Hammer Park.

In the third inning, Sandy Leon was hit by a pitch and Jerad Head doubled to send him to third. With two out, Bloxom delivered the clutch hit of the game, increasing his team-leading RBI total to 58. Head and Bloxom each had two hits on the night.

The Senators added a run in the fourth, when Destin Hood delivered an RBI single to score Jason Martinson, who had reached on an error.

Left-hander Robbie Ray struck out eight over five innings of work and allowed just an unearned run. He improved his record to 3-1 since joining the Senators from High-A Potomac. Richie Mirowski tossed two perfect innings out of Harrisburg's bullpen and fanned three. Aaron Barrett had a perfect eighth and Ryan Perry shut the door in the ninth to earn his second save.
