Sens Head into Break With 3-2 Win

July 8, 2013

Harrisburg, PA - Justin Bloxom delivered an RBI single, walked twice, and scored a run to help lead the Harrisburg Senators to a 3-2 win over the Bowie Baysox on Monday afternoon at Metro Bank Park. The game included a rain delay of just over an hour-and-a-half in the top of the fourth inning.

Following the delay, Bowie scored a run to take the lead on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Waring. Their lead was short-lived, however, as the Senators came right back with two in the bottom of the fourth to go in front for good.

Bloxom walked to open the inning and Carlos Rivero singled, his first hit as a Senator. Harrisburg received some help from the Bowie defense, as one run came in to score on an error before the second scored on a double play ground ball.

Bloxom's RBI single with two out in the fifth proved big, because the Baysox scored a run in the seventh but couldn't come all the way back.

Matt Grace tossed three-and-two-thirds innings in relief and allowed one run to earn his second win. All-star closer Aaron Barrett pitched a scoreless ninth to record his 18th save of the season in 20 opportunities.

The Senators are off the next two days for the all-star break. They return to action on Thursday in Erie for the opener of a four-game series. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and the game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and it's available through iHeart Radio beginning with the pregame show at 6:50 p.m.
