Sens Silenced in Reading

Reading, PA- The Senators committed four errors in the field and dropped the series finale 6-0 to the Reading Fightin Phils, in a rain-shortened six-inning affair at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Tommy Mendonca went 2-for-3 with a two-run double and Anthony Hewitt hit a solo home run to lead off the sixth. Austin Wright tossed five and one-third shutout innings, allowed just two hits, and struck out seven to earn his first win of the season.

Blake Treinen took the loss for the Senators, but only gave up one earned run in four innings. Harrisburg recorded just two hits, both singles, and they came from Jimmy Van Ostrand and Justin Bloxom.

Tomorrow, the Senators return home to open a three-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and the game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and it's available through iHeart Radio beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m.
