SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, will host a three game series against the Lexington Legends, affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, from Wednesday, July 12th through Friday, July 14th. The Shorebirds immediately start another series against the Rome Braves, affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, from Saturday, July 15th through Monday, July 17th.
Wednesday, July 12th is a Silver Slugger Wednesday, presented by Coastal Home Care. The Silver Slugger program is limited to Shorebirds fans that are age 55 and over. Also, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will be able to play Baseball Bingo, courtesy of Coastal Home Care. Baltimore Orioles' first baseman, Chris "Crush" Davis is scheduled to play for the Shorebirds on Wednesday, July 12th against the Lexington Legends on a rehab assignment.
A new promotion will take place on Thursday, July 13th with a Mystery Bobblehead Giveaway to the first 300 fans through the gates. Fans will receive a bag with a mystery bobblehead inside. The Shorebirds staff have collected bobbleheads from various different teams including the Frederick Keys, Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles, Norfolk Tides, Aberdeen Ironbirds, etc. One mystery bobblehead item per person will be given to the bearer of the ticket upon entering the stadium. Thursday is also a KISS 95.9 Thirsty Thursday, presented by University Village at Salisbury. Fans over 21 years of age can enjoy 16 ounce cans of Miller Lite and Coors Light; as well as, 16 ounce Pepsi fountain drinks for $2. It's also Maryland Pride Thursday so the Shorebirds will be wearing their fan favorite, Maryland Pride jerseys. Show your support by wearing your own Maryland Pride gear!
The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a vintage Manny Machado Bobblehead on Friday, July 14th, presented by Perdue Foods. Machado batted .276 with 6 homers and 24 RBI in 38 games for the Shorebirds in 2011. Manny also represented Delmarva as a South Atlantic League All-Star that season. One vintage Manny Machado bobblehead item per person will be given to the bearer of the ticket upon entering the stadium. Additionally, July 14th is also Orange Friday and Froggy 99.9 Big Beer Friday. The Shorebirds will be wearing their orange, pin striped jerseys and fans over 21 years of age can enjoy 32 oz. Miller Lite and Coors Light drafts for $6. Wear orange and join the fun!
Saturday, July 15th will provide the fans another great Q105 fireworks show after the game, presented by Wor-Wic Community College.
Gates will open at 4:00 PM on Saturday so fans can watch the Shorebirds' and Legends' Batting Practice. There are special Happy Hour prices at the Pizza Stand from 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM. Shorebirds players will also be signing autographs in the Flock Shop from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM. The amusement zone will be free of charge from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, as well.
The giveaways continue on Sunday, July 16th when the first 500 kids 12 and under are able to go home with a Manny Machado Emoji T-Shirt, courtesy of Maryland EXCELS. July 16th is also Perdue Strike Out Hunger Sunday. Bring 2 canned food items to the Shorebirds box office and receive an upper reserved ticket for $3. All collected items will be donated to the local area food banks. After the game, kids can run the bases, thanks to Chili's Grill & Bar.
The homestand comes to a close on Monday, July 17th with 47 ABC 2 Buck Monday. Fans can enjoy $2 Upper Reserved tickets, $2 hotdogs, and $2 16 oz. fountain Pepsi products.
All the games during the homestand are scheduled to be 7:05 PM start times with gates opening at 6:00 PM. The only exceptions are Saturday, July 15th when gates open at 4:00 PM so fans can watch Shorebirds batting practice and Sunday, July 16th when gates will open at 4:00 PM with first pitch scheduled for 5:05 PM.
