Salisbury, Md. - Christian Walker recorded two hits including the game winner in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Delmarva Shorebirds (3-1) defeated the Hagerstown Suns (1-3) 2-1 at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Shorebirds scored in the first inning to grab an early lead.  Gregory Lorenzo drew a leadoff walk.  Lorenzo stole second and reached third on a groundout by Torsten Boss.  Then, Christian Walker hit a deep sacrifice fly to left-center field to plate Lorenzo.

Shorebirds starter Branden Kline dominated the Suns over six innings.  He allowed two hits and no runs.  Kline never faced more than four batters in any half inning and faced the minimum in three of his six innings.  The Frederick, MD native induced nine groundouts.

Williams Louico replaced Kline in the seventh inning.  The first batter he faced, Brandon Miller, hit a home run to straight away center field to tie the game at 1-1.

Louico lasted two innings and allowed one hit and one run.  He walked four and struck out three.

Juan Guzman entered in the ninth inning and maneuvered around two walks to keep the score tied.

In the bottom of the ninth, Anthony Vega led off with a single to left field.  Then, Lorenzo placed a sacrifice bunt down the third base line to advance Vega to second.  With two outs, Christian Walker lifted a single to deep left field to score Vega and end the game.

Hagerstown reliever Travis Henke was pinned with the loss in 0.2 innings pitched.

The Shorebirds begin a three-game series against the Kannapolis Intimidators (White Sox) on Monday, April 8 at 7:05pm.  LHP Josh Hader is the scheduled starter for Delmarva.
