PEARL, MS - For the second straight night, the Biloxi Shuckers used a late rally to steal a road win over the Mississippi Braves on Saturday. Blake Allemand 's eighth-inning single gave the Shuckers a 3-2 win to keep pace in the competitive South Division. The Shuckers are back above .500 for the season at 56-55 and have won seven of their last eight games.
Jon Perrin delivered his third straight quality start, tossing 6.0 innings on a career-high 102 pitches in a no-decision. The righty only ran into trouble in the second, allowing a two-run home run to Joey Meneses and loading the bases before escaping the jam.

M-Braves' (12-30, 46-66) lefty Tyler Pike matched Perrin and turned in 6.0 two-run innings of his own while striking out eight Biloxi batters. The Shuckers finally broke through in the fifth, when singles from Javier Betancourt and Johnny Davis were followed by a two-out, two-run double from Troy Stokes Jr. to tie the game 2-2.
Betancourt, Davis, and Stokes each stole a base in the game, giving the Shuckers (20-22, 56-55) seven swipes in two games against Mississippi backstop Alex Jackson. Davis's stolen base on Saturday was his 36th of the season, increasing his Southern League lead.
Biloxi's eighth inning rally began innocuously, as Davis and Stokes were retired by Devan Watts (L, 0-2) to start the inning. Angel Ortega then hit a high pop-up into shallow center that Connor Lien lost in the sky, allowing the inning to continue. Clint Coulter followed with a single to put two runners on, and Allemand singled home the go-ahead run with a base hit to left.
Nick Ramirez (W, 6-4) got eight outs late in the game to earn his sixth win, marking 15.1 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run for the converted first baseman. With the tying run on first and two outs in the ninth, Matt Ramsey (S, 23) struck out Austin Riley to tie Stephen Kohlscheen 's franchise record for saves in a season.
The Shuckers can lock down a series win on Sunday as Hiram Burgos faces off against Touki Toussaint. First pitch from Trustmark Park is at 5:00 pm CT with live coverage beginning at 4:40 pm on Cruisin' WGCM AM-1240/FM-100.9 and the Shuckers Radio Network. The game will also be available at biloxishuckers.com, MiLB.TV and TuneIn Radio.
The Shuckers return to MGM Park on Thursday, August 10 for a five-game homestand with the Chicago Cubs affiliate Tennessee Smokies.
