Spring is officially in the air, which means Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George, home of the Staten Island Yankees, is gearing up for another action-packed summer filled with unique, exciting family fun. We've been working hard to provide something for everyone this season, and here's your first look at our initial promotional schedule. More promotions will be added as the season grows closer, and all promos are subject to change.
Staten Island Yankees: Made in America
Throughout the 2017 season, six home games will be designated as our "Made in America" games featuring a premium giveaway item made right here in the United States of America and post-game fireworks. The dates are June 19 (Opening Day), July 4, July 8, July 22, Aug. 4, and Aug. 25. Read more about our Made in America initiative here.
This season, Sundays are for the kids. Each Sunday afternoon game will be Scooter's Kids Club Sundays, presented by Staten Island McDonald's. To register or for more information, click here. Also on Sundays, Kids Eat Free. Every kid (12 years or younger) to enter the ballpark on Sundays will receive a voucher good for a hot dog, small soda, and chips or apple slices. Every Tuesday night is Taco Tuesday. Tacos will be available for purchase and fans who buy an IPA (21 years or older) or souvenir soda will also get a free taco. And back by popular demand are Thirsty Thursdays featuring beer specials at concessions.
If baseball isn't enough to get the nostalgic juices flowing, we have a Throwback Thursday night just for you. On select Thursdays this summer, we will celebrate the uniqueness of different decades through music and pop culture. Our Throwback Thursday dates are July 6 ('80s), July 13 (Roaring '20s), Aug. 17 ('60s), and Aug. 31 ('00s).
While the '70s and '90s are not part of Throwback Thursdays, they will have their own theme night. See below for more details.
One of the great summer traditions at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George is postgame fireworks against the Manhattan skyline. The Staten Island Yankees have ten fireworks nights scheduled for the 2017 season, including Opening Day on June 19 and back-to-back nights to celebrate Independence Day on July 3 and 4. Fireworks dates include: June 19, July 3, July 4, July 8, July 22, Aug. 4, Aug. 19, Aug. 25, and Sept. 2.

The season begins on Opening Day, Monday, June 19, with a jam-packed evening including our first Made in America game highlighted by a Made in America replica jersey giveaway produced in Brooklyn to the first 1,500 fans courtesy of Richmond County Savings Bank. Following the game, fans will be treated to our first post-game fireworks show of 2017, and fans will get a 2017 magnetic schedule made in the USA on exit courtesy of Richmond University Medical Center.
On Saturday, June 24, we honor our city's hard-working firefighters with FDNY Appreciation Night. The first 2,500 fans will get a drawstring bag sponsored by NY's 529 College Savings Program, and fans will also get a sweet treat while exiting as Staten Island's Cutest Cookie gives out SI Yankee logo cookies. The first 1,000 fans in the ballpark on Sunday, June 25, will get a free ice scraper made in the USA as part of Classic Car Night, highlighted by timeless automobiles around the ballpark provided by the Verrazano Cadillac Club and Staten Island Region Antique Automobile Club of America. If you missed it on Opening Day, fans will also get a magnetic schedule on exit. Know a student interested in pursuing a career in sports? On Monday, June 26, sports industry professionals from across the city will be on hand for a pre-game panel and networking as part of Sports Management Night. Saturday, July 1, is Women in Sports Night as we pay tribute to Staten Island's very own Rockford Peach, Gloria Elliott, with special on-field jerseys commemorating the 25th anniversary of "A League of Their Own" on the same night as its original release in 1992. The night will also feature a special pre-game Q&A panel with woman from across the sports industry.
We're extending your Fourth of July Weekend with post-game fireworks on Monday, July 3, along with free water bottles made in the USA for the first 1,000 fans. The festivities continue on Tuesday, July 4, for our Fourth of July Celebration, featuring post-game fireworks and a BBQ apron giveaway made in America to the first 1,000 adults courtesy of Hormel. Hormel will also hold a chili sampling in front of Richmond County Bank Ballpark before our game on Thursday, July 6.
Bust out your disco balls as we throw it back to the 1970s on Saturday, July 8, for Staten Island Fever celebrating the 40th anniversary of the classic "Saturday Night Fever". The first 1,750 fans get a free Staten Island Fever t-shirt made in the USA, sponsored by IBEW.
Rev up your engines on Thursday, July 20, for Pocono Raceway Night as the first 2,500 fans receive free tickets for a Saturday Pocono race and a chance to win Sunday Cup tickets, potentially your last chance to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. in action. Friday, July 21, is Halfway to the Holidays with the first 1,000 fans receiving a holiday ornament. Saturday, July 22, is Faith & Family Night as well as Star Wars Night, highlighted by an Evil Empire cape giveaway to the first 1,000 adults. And don't worry, we didn't forget about the little ones as the first 1,000 kids in the ballpark on Sunday, July 23, get a superhero cape as part of Superhero Day. Both capes are made in Brooklyn. Sunday, July 23, is also NYPD Appreciation Night with the ballpark once again serving as the finish line for the Staten Island leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New York.
Our annual Pride Night in conjunction with the Pride Center of Staten Island is back and better than ever this summer as former MLB outfielder and MLB's first director of inclusion Billy Bean will be on-hand for a pre-game Q&A, first pitch and autographs.
Every season, the Staten Island Yankees honor local veterans and active military members with Military Appreciation Night. This year's festivities will take place on Friday, Aug. 4, and will follow a special pre-game military softball game on the field with Heroes Sports. The first 1,000 fans in the ballpark will receive a free Made in America ripstop military camo hat, sponsored by IBEW. Gates will open at 5 p.m.
Who says Fat Tuesday can only happen once a year? We bring the festive spirit of New Orleans to Staten Island for Mardi Gras Night on Tuesday, Aug. 8.
On Friday, Aug. 18, the first 1,000 fans in the ballpark get a free travel mug made in the USA. Saturday, Aug. 19, will have millennials reliving their childhood as we celebrate '90s Night. The first 1,200 fans in the ballpark will also get a free SI Yankees candle, sponsored by Yankee Candle. On Sunday, Aug. 20, we recognize the strong Jewish heritage of the city through our annual Jewish Heritage Night.
Our final Made in America game is Friday, Aug. 25, when we auction the special game-worn Made in America jerseys to support the Staten Island Yankees Foundation. It is also Irish Heritage Night in conjunction with the Columcille Irish Cultural of Staten Island, and we'll have the New York Yankees' 2000 World Series trophy at the ballpark available for photo ops. The first 1,000 fans in the ballpark that night will receive a special Made in America Staten Island Yankees team card set sponsored by Staten Island University Hospital Northwell Health.
Bring your furry, four-legged best friend to the ballpark on Sunday, Aug. 27, for Dog Days of Summer, sponsored by VCA Animal Hospital.
We start saying "cheers" to another great summer in St. George with our final Thirsty Thursday of the year on Thursday, Aug. 31, highlighted by a bottle opener giveaway made in the USA for the first 1,000 adults.
Bobblehead collectors will love our final week of the regular season. Our Football Kickoff is Friday, Sept. 1, as we help fans get ready for the new season with a Scooter the Holy Cow Heisman mini-bobblehead for the first 1,000 fans in the ballpark. Saturday, Sept. 2, is your final chance to see bombs bursting in air and also your chance to get a free baseball cap, available to the first 1,000 fans, sponsored by Richmond County Savings Bank.
We close out the regular season with Fan Appreciation Night as the first 1,000 fans in attendance get a Gary Sanchez mini-bobblehead, as well as other special giveaways, including our ever-popular promo storage clean-out.
