San Jose, CA- San Jose Giants catcher Aramis Garcia, shortstop Ryan Howard and right-handed pitcher Dylan Rheault have been named to the 2017 California League Postseason All-Star Team.  Having three players named to the club ties the Giants for the most in the California League along with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and Lancaster JetHawks.

Aramis Garcia was the San Francisco Giants 2nd draft pick in 2014. Garcia, who was promoted to Richmond (AA) in the beginning of August, still ranks seventh in the California League with 17 home runs and ninth in RBI's with 65 in just 81 games. The smooth-swinging catcher was hitting .272 before being called up and still boasts the fourth best slugging percentage at .497. Garcia was also a California League All-Star in June and California League Offensive Player of the Week for his play from April 6 through April 16. During that stretch he hit .364, smacked 4 homers, drove in 15 runs and scored a run in 8 straight games.
Ryan Howard, a 5th round selection in 2016 by the San Francisco Giants, has enjoyed a tremendous 2017 season at the plate. Howard is currently fourth in the California League with a .313 batting average and his 149 hits is good for third most. The shortstop has also launched seven home runs and has accumulated 46 RBI's. Earlier in the season, Howard produced an impressive 14-game hit streak from April 21 through May 6. He has been the epitome of consistency-hitting .323 in April, .315 in May, .348 in June and .316 in July.
Dylan Rheault, who the San Francisco Giants signed as a free-agent in 2017, has been a dominant force out of the bullpen. Rheault started the season as the San Jose Giants 8th inning set-up man before sliding into the closer role after Ryan Halstead's promotion to Richmond (AA). Rheault leads the California League with 20 saves in 22 opportunities and has appeared in 49 games, which is most in the league. The right-hander also holds the fourth lowest batting average against for relievers at .217. Rheault is 2-1 with a 2.48 ERA.
"This is a great achievement for Aramis, Ryan and Dylan to be recognized as 2017 California League Post Season All-Stars", said Nestor Rojas, Manager of the San Jose Giants. "It has been a pleasure managing them and watching their hard work pay off. They are all have an incredibly bright future."
