October 29, 2013

SAN JOSE, CA- The San Jose Giants announced today the winners of their inaugural Gigante Trick-or-Treat Contest. Grant Lester, Cory Gardner and Luke Gardner were chosen as the lucky children to have the San Jose Giants mascot join them on Halloween. Grant was selected after a picture of the eight year old in costume, holding up his Gigante Trick-or-Treat poster, was posted by his mother on both the San Jose Giants Facebook and Instagram pages. The Gardner brothers were selected from a number of contestants who visited Gigante and the San Jose Giants booth at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo's Haunt the Hollow. The Gardners and Grant will each get to Trick-or-Treat in their respective neighborhoods with Gigante on October 31 for one hour between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

"The San Jose Giants are excited to offer this for the first time and we are thrilled to provide these children with the unforgettable opportunity of Trick-or-Treating with Gigante," said Juliana Paoli, San Jose Giants Chief Marketing Officer. "Gigante will be visiting many different houses with Grant, Cory and Luke so every child in San Jose should be on the lookout for him in their neighborhood."
