21 Former Sky Sox Will Participate in WBC

Tournament will feature 16 of the top baseball nations in the world competing from March 6-22

Official rosters for the 2017 World Baseball Classic were unveiled Wednesday evening with a host of former Sky Sox players representing countries throughout the world.
 
Twenty two players who once donned a Sky Sox uniform have made a roster, highlighting the annual surplus of talent seen in Colorado Springs. Rockies All-Stars Carlos Gonzalez and Nolan Arenado highlight the list, and former Sky Sox pitcher Edgar Gonzalez will manage the Mexican National Team.

Of the 22 players who made roster spots, 14 played for the Sky Sox during the team's tenure as a Rockies affiliate from 1993-2014 and eight played in Colorado Springs as part of the current affiliation with the Milwaukee Brewers. The full list is as follows:

The fourth installment of the World Baseball Classic features 16 of the top baseball nations in the world, competing over 16 days in March across North America and Asia. The teams have been split into four groups, with pool play beginning in Seoul, Tokyo, Miami and Jalisco, Mexico.
