SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees clinched the Pacific North Division title and qualified for the 2013 Pacific Coast League Playoffs after defeating the Tacoma Rainiers 8-4 in Washington on Thursday night. This will be the Bees' first playoff appearance in five seasons and 10th overall playoff appearance since 1994. The club last captured the Pacific North Division in 2008, exiting in the opening round Conference Playoffs to the Sacramento River Cats in four games.

Postseason play will commence on Wednesday, September 4, two days after the conclusion of the regular season. The Bees' opponent will be the winner of the Pacific Southern Division and the first two games of the series will be played at Spring Mobile Ballpark. Game 1 of the best of five series will be on Wednesday, September 4, with Game 2 following on Thursday, September 5. Both games will begin at 6:35 p.m. The final three games of the series (if necessary) will be played at the home of the Pacific Southern Division winner.

The winner of the series will advance to the PCL Championship Series to take on the winner of the American Conference. That series is set to begin on September 10. Should the Bees advance to that point, Salt Lake would host the final three games of the series scheduled for September 13-15. The PCL champion will then face off against the winner of the International League in the 2013 Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game on September 17 at Coca-Cola Park, a one-game, winner-takes-all championship contest at the home of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in Allentown, Pa.

Salt Lake Bees playoff tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 30, and are available at the Spring Mobile Ballpark box office, slbees.com, or by calling (801) 325-BEES. Tickets will only be sold for games that are guaranteed to be played.
