SALT LAKE CITY (April 20, 2018) - The Salt Lake Bees closed out their first series of the season against the Sacramento River Cats with a 4-3 victory Friday evening at Smith's Ballpark. The Bees got just the run support they needed with a three-run home run to opposite field by Jabari Blash in the third inning. The blast was Blash's sixth of the season, tying him with Chris Carter for team and league lead.

Though they were held scoreless the rest of the game, the Bees were able to ward off the comeback attempt by Sacramento with strong pitching and several impressive defensive plays in the field.
John Lamb, the Bees' starter, turned in five strong innings, striking out four and allowing just one run as he picked up his first win of the year. Eduardo Parades received a hold for his middle-relief efforts and Akeel Morris registered the save for the consecutive night. Giants top prospect Tyler Beede, the River Cats starter, received the loss in his first Triple-A start of the season.
The Bees will continue their homestand against the Albuquerque Isotopes Saturday night at 6:35 p.m. at Smith's Ballpark. So far this season, the Bees are 5-4 against the Isotopes, including one victory in extra innings on April 9th.
