Walk-Off HR Sends Bees to 0-2 Series Deficit

September 11, 2013

Brian Fletcher belted a leadoff homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Omaha Storm Chasers a 2-1 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday night. Fletcher drilled a 1-1 pitch off of the Bees' Chad Cordero to give Omaha a 2-0 lead the best of five Pacific Coast League Championship Series. Salt Lake had grabbed a 1-0 lead in the fourth when Efren Navarro led off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. After Navarro moved to third on a ground out, Scott Cousins brought him home with a single to center through the pulled in infield. Omaha tied the game in the seventh on two walks and an RBI single by Rey Navarro.

After Cousins' RBI single gave the Bees the lead in the fourth inning, they managed to get only two more baserunners the rest of the game on a one out walk in the sixth to Efren Navarro and a leadoff single by Tommy Field in the eighth. Efren Navarro led Salt Lake with two hits for his fourth multiple hit game of the playoffs. He has also hit safely in all six postseason games.
