Mets end season with 4-3 comeback win over Cardinals

JUPITER, Fla. (September 3, 2017) - The St. Lucie Mets ended the season on a positive note, winning their season finale 4-3 over the Palm Beach Cardinals on Sunday afternoon at Roger Dean Stadium.
 
The Mets won three out of four in the series, including the final two games. In Sunday's game they needed a late inning rally to complete the comeback. The Mets trailed 3-1 until the seventh when Nick Sergakis hit a RBI double and Enmanuel Zabala followed with a two-run double to put the Mets up for good.
 
Mets reliever Miguel Gutierrez, who was brought over from the Gulf Coast League, pitched three perfect innings to earn his first FSL win.
 
Josh Torres stranded the tying run on third base when he struck out Raydar Ascanio to end the game. It was the fourth save for Torres.
 
Starter Yeizo Campos allowed three runs in five innings.
 
Sergakis went 2 for 4 with a double, triple, two RBI and a run.
 
Wuilmer Becerra and Colby Woodmansee had two hits apiece.
 
This game concludes the Mets season. They finished with an overall record of 63-75 and a second half record of 30-40.
