Mets record 12 strikeouts, drop Hammerheads 3-1

JUPITER, Fla. (July 7, 2017) - Three St. Lucie pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts as the Mets clipped the Jupiter Hammerheads 3-1 on Friday at Roger Dean Stadium.
Starter
Alex Paslsha tossed 1.1 scoreless innings. He had two runners in scoring position in the eighth with no outs but got three straight outs to keep the Mets 3-1 lead.
Josh Torres struck out the side in the ninth for his third save.

In the sixth, Urena hit a double and scored on single by Peter Alonso to make it 2-0.
The Hammerheads scored their only run off of Church in the bottom of the sixth when
The Mets got the run back in the eighth inning on back-to-back doubles by Urena and Alonso.
Alonso went 2 for 4 with two RBI. He has two hits in three consecutive games.
Church got the win. He allowed six hits and one run over his 6.2 innings.
