Smokies Announce Promotion of Bryan Webster to Assistant GM

Webster Promoted to New Role in Addition to Other Front Office Moves
October 20, 2016

SEVIERVILLE - The Smokies announce that Bryan Webster has been promoted to Assistant General Manager of Stadium Operations. Webster had previously served as the Director of Stadium Operations, and will now work closely with the management team at the Smokies.

Webster will be entering his 20th season with the Smokies after previously serving 16 years as the Director of Stadium Operations. He will continue to control the daily actions of the team in regards to stadium operations and will continue to work closely with the Johnson City Cardinals as well.

"Bryan knows this facility better than anyone," added team President and COO Chris Allen "He has shown a tremendous amount of leadership and work ethic. He has been there hand in hand with all of the renovations for the Smokies, as well as with the Johnson City Cardinals this past year."

"I want to thank Boyd Sports for this opportunity," stated Webster. "It is an honor to accept this promotion and I look forward to the challenges that my new role will provide."

Webster has played a large role with the renovations for the Tennessee Smokies in recent years, and has also been a big asset in helping with the Johnson City Cardinals stadium since Boyd Sports took over management of the team last year.

He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and now lives in Strawberry Plains with his wife Rachel and their sons Jonathan and Patrick. He is originally from Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada.

The Smokies would also like to announce front office changes and new hires for the 2017 season. These new additions include Victoria Shillingsford as Sponsor Service Coordinator, Drew Gibby as Creative Services and Production Manager, Connor Pearce as Marketing and Media Relations Manager, and Corey Smart as a Corporate Sales Executive, who all served as trainees previously within the organization.

The club also added the promotions of Allie Crain to Community Relations and Promotions Manager, Josh Howe to Stadium Operations Manager, and Thomas Kappel to Senior Corporate Sales Executive.

The Smokies are also introducing a newcomer to the team with the hire of Shelby Carter, who will serve as an Account Executive. Shelby is currently working towards her Master's Degree in Sports Management at East Tennessee State University.

The Smokies will commence their 2017 home campaign against the Mississippi Braves on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. The full schedule for next season and season ticket information can be found online at smokiesbaseball.com, or by calling the Smokies Ticket Office at 865-286-2300.
