SEVIERVILLE - The Tennessee Smokies have announced their 2017 promotional schedule for the upcoming season. The team also announced that individual game tickets can now be bought beginning today, March 8 on all platforms offered by the Smokies. The promotional schedule includes 14 firework shows throughout the season, theme nights, and several giveaway nights built around the Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series Championship.
The firework shows will be featured on Friday and Saturday's in the all new Summer Firework Series presented by Coors Light and Pepsi. The Summer Firework Series will send fireworks into the sky every Friday and Saturday beginning May 13 until July 29. In addition to the Summer Firework Series, the Smokies will also have additional Firework Shows on August 5, August 19, and Monday, July 3 for an Independence Day celebration.
America's Friendliest Ballpark will be the home of many unique giveaways throughout the 2017 season, as the first 1,000 fans (unless otherwise stated) through the gates will receive items on various home dates. The giveaway items featured for the upcoming season include bobbleheads featuring former Smokies and rising Cubs stars Javier Baez (May 28) presented by Senior Benefit Inc. and Willson Contreras (July 9) presented by Vanderbilt Mortgage & Finance. Former University of Tennessee great Todd Helton (August 18) presented by Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union will also be featured as a bobblehead giveaway. The bobblehead slate will also include a Mystery Bobblehead Night (August 6) presented by Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton which will allow fans to receive mystery bobbleheads from professional sports teams throughout the nation.
In addition, other giveaways for the 2017 season include Magnet Schedules (April 12 and April 14) presented by Pilot Food Marts, Kyle Schwarber T-Shirts (April 15) presented by Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton, Light Sabers (May 13) presented by The Regal Entertainment Group, Chicago Cubs Commemorative Championship Rings (June 4) presented by Senior Benefit Inc. and NexGard, School Survival Kit (August 4) presented by U.S. Cellular, and Fan Appreciation Meals (September 3) presented by Toyota Knoxville.
Fans will be able to enjoy many different theme nights throughout the course of the 2017 season. Some of the top theme nights on the agenda for this season include Star Wars Night (May 13) benefiting United Way, Salute to Heroes Night (May 27) which will feature military themed jerseys benefiting Remote Area Medical, Jimmy Buffett Tribute Night (June 17) where players will wear themed jerseys which will benefit Alzheimer's Tennessee, Kids Takeover Night (August 4), and UT Night (August 19) featuring University of Tennessee themed jerseys benefiting The Pat Summitt Foundation. The Smokies will also host $.50 Hot Dog Night (July 25) presented by Advance Auto Parts.
The team will also bring fans weekly promotional specials with Toyota Knoxville Dollar Dog Monday's, Mrs. Grissom's Salads All-You-Can-Eat Wednesday's, Coors Light Thirsty Thursday's, and U.S. Cellular Family FUNdays on Sunday's.
