TENNESSEE SMOKIES WILL HOST WORLD SERIES RING CEREMONY

Chicago Cubs To Present World Series Rings to Coaching Staff and Smokies Ownership

SEVIERVILLE - The Tennessee Smokies have announced that they will host a World Series Championship Ring Ceremony on Thursday, April 20th. The ring presentation will take place on the field immediately following the first game of Thursday's scheduled doubleheader. The doubleheader, consisting of two 7 inning games, will begin at 5:30 PM.

The Chicago Cubs will be presenting 2016 World Series Championship rings to Smokies' manager Mark Johnson, the coaching staff and other baseball personnel. Also receiving Championship rings from the Cubs during the ceremony will be Jenny and Randy Boyd, owners of the Smokies.

The Ring Ceremony will be hosted by Smokies broadcaster Mick Gillispie. Gillispie added "I am very excited to help honor the guys in our organization who were a part of this unbelievable Cubs World Series. It is also extremely exciting to get to share this historic championship with our fans here in East Tennessee."
