Friday's win 4-2 for Beloit was their second straight two-run victory over Clinton as the Snappers move up to one game over the .500 mark. The Snappers have now won five straight matchups against Clinton, the longest string of victories by either side in the season series this year.
Jesus Lopez drove in the first run of the ballgame for the second straight night after an RBI double in the second inning. Déjà vu struck again in the fifth when Josh Vidales delivered the go-ahead run for the second game in a row. Mike Martin set the situation up with his 14th double and 20th stolen base before scoring on Vidales' infield single.
Snappers starter Milburn settled in after the LumberKings greeted him with three hard-hit singles in the first inning. He surrendered just two hits outside of that inning which both took place in the fourth when Clinton tied the game 1-1. The LumberKings shaved the Snappers lead down to 3-2 on an RBI single in the eighth by Jhombeyker Morales.
Kyle Nowlin recorded his 20th double and 60th RBI of the year in his first two trips to the plate and finished the game 2-for-4. Lopez finished the night 3-for-4, his eighth multi-hit game out of 21 total games with the Snappers. JaVon Shelby contributed the Snappers fourth RBI of the night when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the eighth inning.
Beloit's defense converted their league-best 115th double play and league-leading 45th outfield assist on the same play in the first inning. Vidales got the play started with a nifty, over-the-shoulder catch in left field and doubled up a Clinton baserunner at second base.
